The dogs have been walked and fed. The bathroom and kitchen have been cleaned, and there is a brisket happily cooking in the crockpot. It is finally time for some crafting.
Thanks to Jingle Belles, I am working on my Christmas cards. This weeks challenge is a Christmas card without any RED. It was so hard! I adore red. I try to sneak red into everything I do. In fact, I just got some cute red and white polka dotted ruffle ribbon. So, this took some thinking.
Luckily, I got a new stamp set from Stampin' Up. This is the Loads of Love set. I used some paper from the Graphic 45 Christmas Past Collection. This is the Letters to Santa sheet. Lastly, I used a set of lined post-it notes. All in all, I am happy with the result and cannot wait to try another one. Thanks Jingle Belles for getting me outside my comfort zone!
woohoo and a big "WELL DONE, YOU"!!! b/c i think it's a bigger challenge NOT to use our favorite things, than to have to use something we don't like as much. to me, anyway! :) but you have done brilliantly well with lisa's "NO RED, SHE SAID" prompt! love that sweet pickup truck...and the lined postie note is PERFECT! ♥
ReplyDeleteLove that fun little post-it sentiment ... and loads of love is a favorite set ... what time will that brisket be ready ... I'll even bring my own fork :^) ... thanks for joining our jingle belles fun.
ReplyDeleteOh this is soo cool! Love the image!!
ReplyDeleteNo one loves red as much as ME so I totally feel your pain! But, I applaud the way you thought about this challenge and, in fact, challenged YOURSELF!!
ReplyDeleteI love how you used the lined Post-It notes...very clever. And nothing is more beautiful than Graphic 45. Stunning DP to show off your little pick-up truck.
I'd say you did a fantastic job!! :)
Charming card. I love that truck paired with the post-it note. This is one of my favorite stamp sets. It's hard to NOT use red. You did a great job.
ReplyDeleteIt is very difficult NOT to use red, I was suffering too. LOL
ReplyDeleteHowever, I think you did a wonderful job with this and I like the sentiment very much!
