Finally scrapping fall

Here is the page about our pumpkin hunting time. From the freeway we saw a pumpkin farm and naturally we stopped. After walking through table after table of pumpkins, we finally picked a couple good ones. We chose Luna and cinderella varieties. Both are baking pumpkins and allowed me to store up quart after quart of pumpkin puree.

The last of the Basic Grey Recess and Fancy Pants Summer's End was finally used up. Hope that you enjoy!

Love me some scraps

I love scraps! I hoard scraps! I cannot stand to throw away scraps! Luckily, I had some extra time and some creative energy. The extra embellishments did not hurt. Thus, I made a few thank you cards and a tag for fall. Something about tags always inspires me. Little bits of creative play.

Hope that you enjoy!

Last bit of Joshua Tree

Another one page layout on our visit with friends in the Joshua Tree National Park. They made us gourmet trail mix with wasabi peas, white cheddar cheez-its, and other goodies. We had a fun hike and some sunrise desert views. Great time.

Using more of the Fancy Pants Summer's End and some Basic Grey Recess. Hope that you enjoy!

Joshua Tree Visit

Back in the game! So I am working my way through the photos I have and am trying to get them scrapped. Here is a layout of our visit to Joshua Tree National Park. It was such a fun trip with great hiking and lovely friends.

Of course I pulled out my Apron Strings Smaller than a Breadbox kit and had a blast. This kit had a sampling of Fancy Pants Designs Summer's End. It was full of good colors and quality paper. Hope that you enjoy!

Another zoo visit

I know it totally looks like we have a zoo addiction and that is probably true. This is the Santa Barbara zoo and we went on a great day. Because it was Thanksgiving, they gave a few animals pumpkins. We watched otters play with their carved pumpkins for a good long while. It was a riot! They also gave the carnivores thawed turkeys. Watching the leopard try to figure out what kind of carcass he was eating was a blast. He kept licking it, nudging it almost afraid to bite it. So fun!

I used My Mind's Eye for this layout. There is a piece from their quite contrary line and one from their alphabet soup line. Hope that you enjoy!

Santa Barbara for thanksgiving

Definitely been awhile since I scrapped because they are my Thanksgiving photos. We decided to spend Thanksgiving in Santa Barbara because we had no other plans and we had never been. It was delightful! Santa Barbara is an incredibly beautiful city. We had dinner at the Four Seasons and did one wine tasting tour. We also spent a lot of time just exploring the city on foot and checking out the mission-style architecture.

Here is a layout of some of those photos. Hope that you enjoy!

Visiting my godbaby

While in Columbus I got to see Ian. Ian is my godbaby and at this time he is one and half years old. He is also totally adorable. He has the best grin and is so smart.

I pulled out some Five and Dime paper again because it is playful and homey. He is a natural poser and made the photos fantastic. This layout really stands on the merit of how cute this little guy is and how fun the paper is. Hope that you enjoy!

Family time in Columbus

Recently I made it back to Columbus for a family visit. And I managed to be there for my cousin's 18th birthday. He is 18... I remember when this kid was born! Talk about feeling old!

I consoled myself with some good photos of family (most of whom did not want to pose). I managed to get some cute pictures of my niece and my cousins. It was lovely getting to see everyone and getting to tell Devon's girlfriend some embarrassing baby stories! Always a good time.

This layout has some old Cloud 9 paper and some five and dime paper as well. I took this layout from a sketch that May Flaum did awhile back in her Camp Scrap class. This was a lot of fun to attend and scrap. Hope that you enjoy.

Buddy system

Last San Diego zoo layout I promise! At the zoo, they have a fascinating buddy system for cheetahs and other cats that size. Whenever a cat is brought to the zoo or born in the zoo, the cat is immediately paired with a dog. The dogs are mutts adopted from the local animal shelter. The two animals become friends by growing up together and learning to trust each other. Then when the cat is taken to a school or a zoo event, the dog is brought along as well. The cat learns to take his or her cue from the dog. If the dog is relaxed so is the cat. It is called the buddy system and is a great way to set up an animal ambassador program. Way to go San Diego Zoo.

This layout is similar to others in that I am still using October Afternoon's county fair and Imaginisce's happy camper line. It was a lot of fun. Hope that you enjoy!

A lesson in Zebras

Oh my goodness! Thanks to the San Diego Zoo I know far more about zebras than I did before. Now I know that there are three kinds of zebras. There are plains zebras, mountain zebras and Grevy's zebras. Plains zebras have broad stripes all over. Mountain zebras have narrow stripes that widen at the rear and their undercarriages are white. Grevy's zebras have narrow stripes very close together and also have a white undercarriage. A trip to San Diego zoo sure beat out Zoobooks for fun, informative animal knowledge.

Here is a layout I did using the new information I have on zebras. Could not resist some animal nerdiness on a layout! I used more of the Imaginisce happy camper line and a little bit of October Afternoon's county fair. All came from Apron Strings kits. No real surprise to anyone I am sure. Hope that you enjoy!

At the zoo in San Diego

I am finally back to scrapping regularly thanks to LOAD (layout a day). For the month of February I am trying to do a layout every day. Of course, the flu struck me and I got off to a slow start, but am back on track now.

Here is a layout I did on the San Diego zoo. I used Imaginisce Happy Camper line. It came awhile ago in my Apron Strings kit and I have been saving it for just the right theme. And here it is. Hope that you enjoy!
